Kick Boxing Returns

Wednesday, 6:00p

Kick boxing originates from various martial arts styles like Muay Thai, Karate, Western Boxing and other styles. It is a stand-up fighting style that emphasizes striking techniques including punches, kicks, and knee strikes and is popular for its ability to provide a full-body workout, improving strength, endurance, coordination, and agility, while also offering self-defense applications. Suggested for adults and youth ages 10+.

Kick ***NEW*** Wado Ryu Karate

Tuesday, 7:15p Effective 9/16

(NO CHARGE FOR SEPTEMBER CLASSES)

Wado Ryu places emphasis on not only striking, but also joint locks  and throws. Wado Ryu employs linear striking, but forgoes with Shotokan’s aggressive approach. This style focuses on “body-management,” and refers to body manipulation so as to move the defender as well as the attacker out of harm’s way. The way to achieve this is to ‘move along’ rather than to ‘move against’. Using these principles, the energy of the attack is diverted and evaded, and then or simultaneously countered with joint-locking, throwing, or striking techniques.  Adults and youth ages 10+

Saturday, September 20th,11:00a to 1:00p

The feeling of harmony is deepened with each step.
