Mike started judo training in 1967 in Highland Park at North Shore Judo and Tae Kwon Do Center under the instruction of Mr. Tae Jing Suk who’s accomplishments included Korean National Champion several times.
Mike competed in he 1976 Men’s Olympics Trials at the age of 15.
In the 1970’s, Mike took 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in 12 National and International Competitions.
